Three Things About Consumers

The three things you need to know about consumers. They're:

  1. Cheap
  2. Lazy
  3. Stupid

Make something which is cheaper, easier to understand and requires less effort than the competition and you're on a winner. Probably hit two out of the three and you'll have a winner too. For example, easy to understand and requires no effort: iTunes.

Beware of products which are:

  1. More expensive
  2. More effort to use
  3. More difficult to understand

For example, the flashing 12:00 on the VCR. Remember them? "Wait, you can program the thing to record in advance?..."
